#PlayerProfile: Maycee Brown
Sun 30 Aug 2026, 7:33 pm

Maycee Brown grew up playing for the Calliope Roosters and credits her dad for getting her into the game, with her first footy memory involving a pair of bright pink boots. Since then, the journey has taken her through Queensland Country, a memorable Under 17 Capras preliminary final comeback against the Blackhawks and, now, into the BMD Capras side.

Making the BMD team was one of Maycee’s major goals for 2026, and with that box now ticked, her sights are firmly set on the next one: earning an NRLW contract. She knows it is a big ambition, but her approach to getting there remains measured. Trust your own timeline, don’t compare yourself to others and remember that everyone gets there differently.

It is a mindset matched by what footy has taught her along the way: you get out exactly what you put in. For Maycee, there is always someone else working towards the same opportunity, and “the day you rest is the day you let someone else win.”

Off the field, Maycee is rarely too far from the gym and counts Tia-Clair Toomey and Jess Southwell among her sporting idols. Kanye West’s POWER is her game-day track, while Mum’s post-game steak, egg, avo and rice is the meal that always hits right. She has a hidden talent for singing, Greece sitting firmly on the bucket list and, despite everything she loves about footy, not a great deal of affection for the warm-up drill.
