Player Profile: Blake Moore

Blake Moore’s story with rugby league starts where plenty of good ones do, at the local club. His first memory of the game is playing under 7s for the Gemfield Giants, with footy already part of family life through his dad’s involvement at the club and his older brother playing too. Since then, the halfback has worked his way to the Capras, with his 2019 debut against South’s Logan Magpies still sitting as the standout moment of his career.

What comes through quickly with Blake is how measured his approach is. His goal this year is to play consistent footy every week, and the biggest lesson the game has taught him is to never get too far ahead of yourself and stay in the moment. It is a mindset that feels true to the way he talks about the game, grounded, clear and focused on what matters.

Away from footy, Blake keeps plenty of variety in the mix. He enjoys golf and coaching, heads into game day with Thunderstruck in the background, and is more than happy with a steak after full-time. Throw in a hidden talent for juggling and a love of the Brisbane Heat, and you get a profile of someone who is easygoing by nature but serious about his footy.
