The Central Queensland Capras claimed a hard-fought 24–14 victory over the Wynnum Manly Seagulls in Round 21 of the Hostplus Cup at Rugby Park, Rockhampton. In front of their home crowd, the Capras produced a composed finish to secure two points after trailing for much of the second half.

Wynnum struck first through Delouise Hoeter in the 9th minute before the Capras answered in the 23rd when Connor Guley crossed and Blake Moore converted to put the home side ahead 6–4 at the half. The Seagulls reclaimed the lead with two quick tries early in the second half, first to Toni Tupouniua in the 46th minute and then Garry Tuilekutu in the 53rd. With one conversion added, Wynnum held a 14–6 advantage and looked to have momentum on their side.

The Capras hit back in the 64th minute when John Fineanganofo scored and Moore’s conversion narrowed the margin to two. That set the stage for a determined final quarter, and the breakthrough came in the 74th minute when Tyler Szepanowski found the line to give the Capras the lead once more. Moore again made no mistake with the kick, pushing the margin out to four. Just minutes later, Ryan Jackson sealed the result with the Capras’ fourth try, and Moore’s flawless goalkicking for the afternoon took the score to 24–14.

It was a display of persistence and composure from the Capras, who turned the game their way in the final 15 minutes after absorbing pressure earlier in the contest. The win keeps confidence high as the team looks to carry momentum into the closing rounds of the season.
