The Central Queensland Capras demonstrated resilience across all junior teams this weekend at Rugby Park in Rockhampton, facing off against the Mackay Cutters. While the U18 Boys, U16 Boys and U19 Girls, fought valiantly, all three teams were outpaced by their opponents, resulting in tough losses. However, the U17 Girls delivered a commanding performance, securing a dominant 28-4 win. The Capras remain focused on growth, learning from every match, and pushing forward to the next challenge.

Cyril Connell Cup: Capras (22) vs. Mackay Cutters (46)

The U16 Capras faced a tough 46-22 defeat against the Mackay Cutters. Despite strong performances and tries from Parker Gallagher, Michael Busby, Jay Marsh, and Jake Symes, the Capras couldn’t stop the Cutters’ relentless attack. With tries from Calvin Ramos, Will Hamblin, and several others, the Cutters secured their victory.

Harvey Norman U17s: Capras (28) vs. Mackay Cutters (4)

The U17 Capras were dominant in their 28-4 victory over the Mackay Cutters. With six tries scored, including a brace from Jorgie Mitchell and a strong performance from Isabelle Jensen and Alexis Bukowski, the Capras controlled the game from start to finish. The team’s defensive strength was evident, as they kept the Cutters scoreless for much of the game. This commanding win is a testament to the team’s growth this season.

Harvey Norman U19s: Capras (12) vs. Mackay Cutters (36)

The U19 Capras struggled against the Mackay Cutters, losing 36-12. Despite tries from Lyndell Malone and Caydence Fouracre, the Capras couldn’t stop the Cutters’ onslaught, with the Cutters scoring seven tries. The Capras fought hard but couldn’t match the intensity of the Cutters, who capitalised on their opportunities.

Mal Meninga Cup: Capras (12) vs. Mackay Cutters (24)

The U18 Capras were defeated 24-12 by the Mackay Cutters in a hard-fought match. Willem Lloyd and Zakkaree Jenkyn crossed for the Capras, but tries from Zane Elletson, Rylan Misztela, and Ryan John kept the Cutters in control throughout. Despite their best efforts, the Capras were unable to keep up with the Cutters’ attack, and while the team showed resilience, they couldn’t close the gap in the second half. This performance will serve as valuable experience as they work to improve and strengthen their game.
